New Arrival: It's a Girl!...think PINK!

O.k., I'm looking through all my swaps from convention searching for fun ideas for my new grand-niece that decided to surprise everyone and arrive yesterday several weeks early! I was just starting to think about making a scrapbook album as a baby present for my nephew and his wife and now..., the baby is here and I can start thinking PINK! So that will be a lot of fun.
Here are several cards that I found in my stack of convention swaps that I thought would be great for a baby girl....and since I don't live close to this new baby I can send lots of fun stuff to her in the mail. Thanks to these fellow stamping friends that swapped with me: giraffe card by Beth Cotta, "for you" card by Patty Bennett, boat card has no name on back :-(, tall brown card by Kim Yancy, and pink "priceless" card by my border buddy Pam Lee from Canada.

Next Project

This is one of my favorite things I saw at Convention '08 using the new wall art. The new Decor Elements "family" image is used on the glass pane of this old window (or cupboard door) frame. I'm anxious to go to the local flea markets and find some old frames like this to make one for my living room. The scroll/vine images are actually on the wall and the words on the glass so that adds an interesting layered look. I really like these and know it will go well with all the family pictures I have in my house. I also think it would be fun to make one with the new Sizzix Big Shot machine & alphabet to cut out last names.....cutting the letters out of vinyl for a personalized framed name to display in our homes. Wouldn't that be great wedding & Christmas gifts? And first names for baby gift! O.k., time to go rummage through the rafters in the garage to see what fun things might be stored in there!

Surf's Up! Sizzix

I bought these Sizzix Sizzlits dies a few months ago for an event with a Surf's Up! theme. After attending the Stampin' Up! convention last week in Salt Lake City I remembered I had these (now that we have partnered with Sizzix and will sell that product line!...yeah!) and if anyone is interested in using these for any gifts for the Stampin' Up! Hawaiian incentive trip let me know. I would be happy to punch out the shapes or work out some deal with you. I think they would be super cute downline gifts for that incentive trip or personal items:
*Scrapbook pages
*Gift Tags
*Card
*Luggage tags
etc.

Convention Swaps

Here are some of my top picks from swaps one of my roomies received at convention. I like that these are demonstrable and repeatable. Sorry I don't know the names of the gals that made these since I just photographed them while we were going through piles of swaps. These will be some I use for ideas for classes and workshop demos.

Enjoy,

Jennifer

Convention Displays 2008

I have to say that one highlight of convention for me is looking at all the Stampin' Up! displays & seeing items that I have sent into Stampin' Up! for various contests and such. Here are 2 of my creations that I found on display. The light blue 12x12 scrapbook page with the title: "Summer Days" used rub-ons, die cut blooms and cute (old) pictures of my kids who are now 18 and 15!

The other item is the tent card in lt. blues and red with the black bird on the top.

Decor Elements samples

I used my samples of the new Stampin' Up! Decor Elements product line and put them in my stamp room. I put one on the white wood window trim (next to the "create" from TLC) and one on my large glass jar that currently stores bolts of ribbon. And yes, my stamp room is PURPLE....."Does paint come in any other color?" tee hee
The image on the wall got a little squished on my way home from convention and the little dots didn't want to cooperate so I cut part of the image out and just used that on the wall.
Happy stamping, Jennifer
