Personalized card for Baby!

Lately I have been having fun creating personalized baby cards for newborns. This card is a 5x7 which is a size I have envelopes for and also a fun size for mom to frame in a 5x7 frame....makes a fun decoration for the baby's room.
These cards also make great scrapbook page layouts.
Of course you can make the card in a blue color scheme for boys. I buy alot of scrap ric-rac and lace from a local flea market and also use up all those scraps in my stamp room so this is a fun and easy project.

12x12 "Family" themed scrapbook page

Here's a fun 12x12 layout. I used Very Vanilla cardstock and I really like the vanilla letters: "family" at the top of the layout....subtle but still there for a title. For the vanilla title of "family" I first glued the vanilla cardstock onto coasters then cut the letters out on my Big Shot machine. This way the letters are thicker and can be easily glued to the page with glue dots. The rest of the page uses various rub-ons, chipboard shapes, ribbon and cardstock embellishments also cut from the Big Shot machine.
Enjoy,

6x6 page of Baby Reese

Here's a quick and easy 6x6 sized scrapbook page made with "Sweet Slumber Speciality" designer paper from Stampin' Up! and some of the Yellow ribbon from SAB '09 (have a ton of that to use up LOL!) The blue square in the top left corner was made by using two 6x6 pieces of of that designer paper with right sides (blue sides) together.....I folded down the top piece to create the 45 degree angle and the print on the blue paper creates the white square behind my chipboard "a".

Summer "Golf" card

Here's a fun summer card using the Big Shot texture plates to create a fun dimple look to a punched circle to create a golf ball. This could be a Father's Day card too, just change the stamped message.

School's out for Summer!

Yeah, school is out for the summer. I hope to find more time to post fun things to this blog. Today I thought I would show you a fun project (non stamping) that I completed with one of my classes at PDHS. Besides Art I also teach a Community Involvement class and we complete projects that improve our community. Once recent project was a license plate design of the state of Nebraska with a Husker "N" camouflaged in it. This art work is hanging in the Husker room at Bags'Bar & Steakhouse.

Stampin' Up! Regional in Lincoln

Alexis was my guest at the Lincoln, Nebraska SU! Regional training. It was fun to take her to her first SU! event. The baskets were a project I demoed for a 5 minute "Workshop WOW". These baskets will be a project at upcoming monthly classes as they make cute little baskets great for Easter, spring, May day etc.
Happy stamping,

Jennifer

Photo confusion

There seemed to be some photo confusion with the March issue of the Stampin' Up! Stampin' Success. So if you are a demonstrator and see the contest winning entries you will see my name but a photo of my daughter, Alexis. The wrong person was inadvertently cropped out of our family photo so this is me...I'm the one on the right. I guess I should be flattered that they thought I was 18! tee hee

"Wrap it Up" SU Contest Winner

Here's the bags I made for the December Stampin' Up! monthly art contest for demos: "Wrap it Up: gift wrap ideas for the whole year". Each design is a cardstock front and back that covers a lunch bag size sack. All the images were cut out of the Big Shot machine, well... the candle stick is just a strip of paper but the flame is the wing from the bird (nothing was stamped on this project!) I was fortunate to win this contest and received 3 stamp sets from Stampin' Up! Yeah, more free stamps! :-)

WINTER HEARTS

Here's some photos I took the other day of Potter's Reading Garden after a snow storm. My Community Involvement Class at P.D.H.S. decorated this area for Valentine's Day and the red hearts really "pop" now with the blanket of white snow. We cut the heart shapes out of laminated red paper and used the Sizzix die cut machine.
Stay warm!

Winter Greetings

I just love the Top Note die for my Stampin' Up! Big Shot machine. I made this fun card for a winter greeting card (didn't get to Xmas cards this year). Photography is one of my other favorite hobbies (besides stamping and scrapbooking) so it was easy to pick a fun picture of the kids and make some fun cards. Yes, it is winter here in Nebraska. We actually have a Snowday today so, no school! Yipee, snowdays are one of my favorite things! I plan to spend time in my craft room, probably scrapbooking today. Enjoy your day,

Jennifer

Happy New Year! 2009! O.k., my New Year's resolution is to find more time organize my stamping projects and keep up with my blog. So hopefully you will hear from me more often on this blog! :-)
Today I am sharing a project from a fellow Stampin' Up! Demo and friend, Patty Bennett from Hercules, CA. I love the projects that Patty shares with me and after seeing her use the "Bind-it-all" machine on various projects I asked Santa to bring me one of those machines for Christmas. So that is one of the things I got for Christmas and now I need to find time to play with it a bit. Look for binding in some of our next monthly class projects!
This "Create-A-Calendar '09 Kit" is #113052 $7.95 in the Holiday Mini Catalog. If you like this project buy it now as the mini catalog expires January 18. Buy the kit and I'll provide a free spiral binder for you! Remember you can order anytime on line. Click the button on this blog to order or go to my website.....or contact me my email thomas@potterneb.net

Too Cute To Spook! Scrapbooking class...

This is one of the pages for this month's scrapbooking classes. It's quick and easy and uses fun Halloween colors. I love the "Ghostly Greetings" designer paper from Stampin' Up!. There are little shaker eyes in the O's on the word: spook. The pumpkin is one of the new die cuts from Stampin' Up!, the leaves are a retired SU! punch. The titles are also done on the Sizzix. (Cuttlebug's Olivia alphabet and Sizzix Serif alphabet) This has been a hit at scrapbooking classes so far this month! If you missed class this month and are interested in this layout please contact me.
How you are finding time to scrapbook this fall!

Copy the Catalog!

The Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog is great for copying ideas.

I found this card on page 125. I changed the image stamped on the background to "Eastern Blooms" instead of "Kind Thoughts" from page 122, since I didn't have that one.

I used some Soft Sky paper with the new In Colors: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red.......and you could easily copy this card and use the Baja Breeze for the blue card piece.

Have you noticed all the stamps that fit into the new Square Scallop Punch? This same design could be made with a variety of stamped images with all those choices that fit that punch.

Happy stamping,

Jennifer

Scallop punch Sunflower card

Here's a fun "Happy" card from a stamping class I taught this week. The Stampin' Up! Round Scallop punch was cut to resemble a sunflower. Leaves were cut free hand out of a folded piece of green cardstock and ran through a crimper. Super easy and fun fall colors too!

My inspiration for my card was this "happiness" card made by Patty Bennett.

Happy stamping,

Jennifer

Grad gift scrapbook page...off to college!

I'm sharing a graduation gift I made for my daughter's high school graduation this past May. We have scrapbooked together to make pages for her albums throughout the years and I snuck this one in without her knowing...and put it in the front of her Senior year album. I love the saying I found for this page: " All our dreams can come true....if we have the courage to pursue them." by Walt Disney. And this poem:

We're so glad you're our daughter
Especially on this wonderful day
For it's your graduation

And we love you more than words can say

And perhaps this photo album

Will in some way help to show

We're proud of all you've said and done

And we just wanted you to know

So as you turn these special pages

May you feel our joy and love

Today, tomorrow and always

That you're so deserving of

O.K.......get the box of Kleenexs out! :-) .....she has left for college!!!

I used Stampin' Up! embellishments on this page: chipboard letter "A", ribbon, ribbon slide, brads, punch, cardstock & DSP. I did a colored pencil drawing of her from one of the senior pics I took of her. So this is a special page for her album. I'll have to make a similar page for my son in a few years....I was smart enough to buy the poems for both son & daughter....and as long as I don't lose it in my messy stamp room I'll be good to go!

Enjoy, Jennifer
